About to begin an 8 hour solo mountain bike race in Ontario

Meet Heather, Founder of VBC

Most people who know me would say that I’ve always been a bit of a wildflower, never following the well-trodden path and generally doing things a little differently.

My varied career journey has included work as a chef, wellness program manager, fundraising consultant, barista, bed and breakfast owner, personal trainer, bicycle salesperson, life coach, freelance writer, HeartMath practitioner and more….but there’s been one common thread throughout, a genuine interest in helping others.

It’s never too late to begin again. In my late 50s, I gave cleaning and organizing a try and finally found my true jive and purpose. And lo and behold, all those skills acquired in other jobs through the years have come in really handy in my current work.

n the past 4 years, what began as a solo venture has grown to employ a small and dedicated team who also enjoy the same kind of purpose, meaning and joy that I’ve found within this industry.

A clean and organized space has a huge impact on an individual’s sense of wellbeing, mental health and agency in life. Whether you just want the peace of mind and freedom of having someone else take cleaning off your plate or you’re living with ADHD (I live on the AuDHD spectrum as well), mental health issues or physical limitations, VBC has the experience, compassion and resources to help.

When I’m not working, I’m often out on my bike, enjoying the great cycling that Victoria has to offer or participating in road, gravel or mountain bike events across BC or in my original home province of ON. I’m also a recreational knitter, beginner piano player, animal lover and dabble in the local stand-up comedy scene.

What Sets Us Apart - Our Dedication to Making a Difference

I renamed my business Victoria’s Best Cleaner in 2025 after several clients had begun to say, “Heather, you’re Victoria’s Best Cleaner!” There are many great cleaners in this city but I do feel that the new business name speaks to my drive to be the best that I can be for myself, my clients and my team and to VBC’s commitment to making a difference in the lives, home and communities of everyone we serve.

In Our Client’s Homes

We believe that your home is your sanctuary and should be a space that feels good to you. We’re committed to giving you a sense of peace, calm and order through everything we do.

We love your pets! Cats, dogs, guinea pigs, iguanas, whatever kind of furry, scaley friend(s) you may have. We bring calm and friendly energy into your home to help put your pet(s) at ease and, if they enjoy treats, we’re happy to dispense some!

In Our Client’s Lives

We do more than just clean - we care. We love creating lasting relationships and meaningful connections with our clients. We’re not strangers coming into your home, we are friends you know and trust.

In Our Team Member’s Lives

We’re proud to offer our team a great place to be and work that is purposeful, engaging and meaningful, built on a culture of positivity, authenticity, well-being and flexibility. VBC believes in compensating our team well and nurturing a flexible environment that suits their individual needs and goals.

In Our Community

We are happy to offer our Clean It Forward Program through which we offer free, one-time cleans to individuals on limited income or who are dealing with mental, emotional or physical health issues.

Each month, we also make a donation to a local registered charitable organization that serves our community.
